Ambrose Nursery Home Page
We would like to welcome you and your child to Ambrose Nursery Ltd.
Built in 1908, the building was the former St Ambrose Church & Sunday School.
The nursery operates in the old Sunday School which has been fully re-furbished and designed especially for the purpose of a Children’s Day Nursery.
We opened in September 2003 and are registered as a 72 place day nursery.
We have developed over this time with ideas and suggestions from Staff, Children, Parents and Visitors.
Our 4 Directors are constantly aiming to improve our services and put much time and effort into the nursery. We pride ourselves in being a family run business, which cares and caters for each individual Child & their families needs, within the local and surrounding areas.
The nursery is on two levels:
Snuggle & Grow & Little Explorers
is downstairs, which is a large open plan room, able to take 42 under 3’s at any one time.
is upstairs, with 3 areas: Main room, Craft & Messy area, Computer & Science Room
We can take up to 30 children in this pre-school room from approx 3yrs to 5.
Parents & Visitors are amazed at the size of the nursery, there is a bright welcoming reception area, large staircases, separate rooms for laundry, storage, offices, staff room & our nursery rooms.
Outside is nice and bright too, with lots of flowers and greenery.
We have a large carpark, a yellow brick road giving easy access for all ages of children to a large grassed area on the top of the hill. There are trees, giant playframe with swings and slide in a woodchipped area, log seating, benches, tyres & an all weather shelter.
Our back play area is used daily by the children, there are planned activities, lots of bikes, trikes,
play house, and an outdoor all weather shelter etc.
On the other side of the building, the babies & toddlers enjoy our grassed area where we have
areas to plant flowers & vegetables. We aim to bring the indoors out and the outdoors in, in All Weathers.
To quote one of our early years’s team:
“This is the best example of: Having opportunities for children to explore, investigate, make choices and mistakes… I have ever seen!!”
